Automatic
RideOS checks the Pi bridge first, then falls back to browser location.
Bike mode
Keep controls large and prevent the screen from sleeping when supported.
Ride storage
Completed rides save locally first. Optional Field Sync uploads completed test rides when internet is available.
Auto-pause when stopped
Pauses the ride timer while you're parked (trailhead, lunch, waiting on a friend) and resumes when you move, so your ride time and average speed reflect the riding. Your track and distance are unaffected.
Share stats in group recaps
When a Ride Group ends, your distance, top speed and climb for the time you were in it are added to the group recap so everyone can see how the ride went. Turn this off and you still appear in the recap by name, but your numbers stay private.
Crash detection
Watches for a hard impact followed by a sudden stop while you're actively recording, then gives you a cancellable countdown before alerting your Ride Group. This is a first pass, not a tuned system - rough terrain can trigger false alarms. Test it before trusting it.
Solo ride check-in
For riding alone: set an expected ride length. If you're still recording once it passes, RideOS puts an unmissable "still out there?" prompt in front of you - no silent auto-alert, since if you can see the prompt you can answer it yourself.
Emergency contact
Shared by Crash detection and Check-in above. Never sent automatically - both features only open a prefilled text in your phone's own Messages app, which still needs your tap to send.
